Okay, it's been a decade since I played TR. I bought this cause I liked the demo.

I'm still at a loss on how to use the map I found in the manor. It's not in the inventory and there is is no shortcut bind for in in the config menu.

When you have completed every level and gathered all objects, you are able to view the different costumes....  but how to you CHOOSE those different costumes? (short of using the TRA loader)
I can't figure it out in the game menu, it won't select anything.

For the map in the manor, you need to pick it up first, there is a walkthrough for it here: http://tomb-raider-anniversary.com/tomb ... oft_manor/ - you should find out where to pick it up.

About the costumes, once you unlock them, when you choose to replay a level you can pick which costume to wear.

Yeah but what I'm finding trouble with is the inventory system. Item simply are not showing up sometimes. For instance, on the peru level it says "look a Lara's journal in items to see her thoughts on the current situation", except that there is no journal in the inventory! Just 2 medic kit types and pistols. As for the aforementioned map, it only started showing in the inventory AFTER I completed the maze, but I most certainly had picked it up BEFORE before I went in

As for the costumes, I can look at them in the game GUI menu, but clicking on them does nothing - the game starts when the default. This isn't a game stopping crisis for me, but I'm really curious to figure out what the heck is going on!

I have the Steam version of the game. Finally out of desperation I downloaded the no-cd patch so I could use the TRA Loader (won't work with Steam). Costumes appear correctly when using the TRA Loader. Still I'm trying to figure out why my game seems slightly fubar'ed

Okay found the answer to the inventory items (laughable newbie mistake) but still don't get why it not choosing the new costume.

To be honest, I didn't try changing Lara's costume before completing about half of the game or so (and more after I finished it completely), so I think you should try to play more with the default costume ..

LOL I am playing with the basic costume especially since the water effects (i.e. when you go in the water and then come out) don't look right on the "other costumes.

I just wanted to know why it wasn't working, since I bought it through Steam I don't have a nifty manual and it seemed to be implied you could play using those alternate skins, so I just wanted to know if I was doing something wrong.

to see her toughs press tab and then the "s" key. that should do the trick lol

Ok, you can't change the outfits unless you've locked them via finding relics in certain levels. To find out if each stage of a level has a relic or not, simply press pause and enter the Statistics menu. If there's a relic it'll show up as 0/1 or 1/1 if you've already found it.

To actually change her outfit you need to go into the Croft Manor and enter Lara's bedroom. Turn right and enter her walk-in wardrobe. Walk all the way in to where the wardrobe door is open and press the triangle button [if you're usin' PS2] and select which outfit you want her to wear. Now save and hey presto, outfit changed.
